H.R. 3920

Ask Congress to Help Dislocated Workers
H.R. 3920 would assist workers who lose jobs due to trade

The federal Trade Adjustment Assistance program (TAA) provides workers who lose their jobs due to foreign trade with an array of services, including retraining, extended unemployment insurance and health insurance tax credits. Since 2002, over 71,000 Tar Heels have been certified as eligible for the TAA program.

Legislation pending before the U.S. House of Representatives would make TAA better able to better serve Tar Heels dislocated by global trade. Furthermore, it would strengthen the state’s important unemployment insurance system.
