UNC School of Social Work responds to safety concerns

In an email to students, Dr. Anna Scheyett, Associate Dean of Students, indicated the school will sponsor a safety workshop for their students in response to their expressed concern over remaining safe in the field. There have been a rash of social workers attacked recently, including one in Wake County, which prompted Dr. Scheyett to solicit concerns from students and initiate a school response. Matt Sullivan, an alumnus of the School of Social Work and a police social worker, will give the seminar on March 3rd. Video feed will be provided to distance education students who are unable to attend in Chapel Hill.
