Sen. Rick Glazier news

Sen. Glazier has always been a great ally to Social Work and we are proud to have him in the General Assembly!

From the Fayetteville Observer:

"This year marks the first time in four elections that state Sen. Rick Glazier, a Democrat from Fayetteville, will run unopposed.

Tim Holt, a Republican and a retired military man, had hoped to run against Glazier in District 45. When he showed up Friday at the county Board of Elections Office, he learned that under state law he must live within the district for at least 12 months. He moved to the district in November.

“I do feel it is infringement of the equal protection rights under the U.S. Constitution,” said Holt, a third-year law student at Campbell University.


The campaign will go ahead, with a focus on solidifying Rick's base and raising money to support our friends in tight races. By the way, it looks like Margaret Dickson will have a real challenge from a moderate, pro-business Repub

This should read, Representative Rick Glazier. Mea Culpa. Of course, if the Representative ran for the Senate, NASW-NC would certainly support him!
