"Caring for Your Parents" PBS Program

From: Diana D. Hatch, AARP-NC State President

If you have ever been a caregiver, are one now, expect to be one or need care, you should tune in to UNC-TV, public television in North Carolina, Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 9 PM for the premiere of "Caring for Your Parents," a moving 90-minute program about five families where the adult children grapple with the unfamiliar role of caregivers for their parents.
The documentary is followed by a 30-minute panel discussion led by medical correspondent, Dr. Art Ulene. This is the first joint production between AARP publications and WGBH Boston to develop television specials relevant to the 50+ population. It will air again in June, this time followed by a UNC-TV-produced discussion on care-giving in North Carolina.
