The NC Mental Health Planning & Advisory Council

The NC Mental Health Planning & Advisory Council will host its next public forum in the Pine Room of the Northeast Regional Library at 1241 Military Cut Off Road in Wilmington, NC, at 5:00 p.m on Monday, April 28th. The first NC Mental Health Planning & Advisory Council forum was held in Clayton, NC on April 4th, where there was 32 people in attendance.

Consumers, family members, friends, advocates, and interested individuals will be given the opportunity to comment on our state's public mental health system. There will be input taken on what are our state's mental health system's strengths and initives, current needs and challenges, and recommendations for future priorities (please see the accompanying attachment for more details).

The NC Mental Health Planning & Advisory Council will also host a public forum in the western part of our state in May, at a site and date still to be determined.

Finally, for consumers, family members, friends, advocates, and interested individuals who cannot attend one of these three forums in person, an on-line survey will be made available for individuals to complete regarding the strengths/iniatives, challenges/needs, and recommendations for our state's public mental health system. I will have more details regarding this on-line survey soon.

Please feel free to share this e-mail with anyone who may be interested in these forums.
