Help Advance JJDPA Reauthorization!
Field Calls to Focus on Recommendations to Strengthen the JJDPA
First, a thank you to every organization that signed onto the Act4JJ Statement of Principles on JJDPA reauthorization. Your support is much appreciated and has resulted in much interest from staff on the Hill in the Statement.

In building on the Statement of Principles, attached please find three documents, which we believe represent the next, more detailed step for JJDPA reauthorization. The first document is a list of the eight recommendations the Act4JJ campaign would like to advance in JJDPA reauthorization. The second document is a backgrounder, which gives additional information on these recommendations, including why these recommendations should be incorporated into the next reauthorization bill. The third document is a sign-on letter to which you can add your organization’s name in support of these specific recommendations.

In order to facilitate a discussion on these documents, we will hold two conference calls next week. The calls will be held at 1:15pm (EST) on Monday, May 12 and 3pm (EST) on Tuesday, May 13th. To RSVP for the conference call, please email: info@juvjustice.org.

We would love to have each of you that signed on to the Statement of Principles to also add your name to support these specific recommendations. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to your support!
