Poll Position

Poll Position

Gubernatorial candidates Pat McCrory and Beverly Perdue appear to be starting on a level playing field. The latest poll by Democratic firm Public Policy Polling found that McCrory, the Republican nominee, and Perdue, the Democratic nominee, were both the choice of 45 percent of those surveyed. The poll of 616 likely voters was conducted on May 8-9 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percent. The survey also found that McCrory is getting more crossover support than Perdue. McCrory was the choice of 20 percent of self-identified Democrats, while Perdue was the favorite of 14 percent of self-identified Republicans.
