ACLU HK on J 2008!

March for Equality & Justice
Join us for HK on J 2008!
11:00 A.M. ---- Saturday, February 9 ---- Chavis Park, 505 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Raleigh, NC

In 2007, 5,000 individuals led by a coalition of 75 organizations marched to the Legislature on Jones Street to demand more from our government. On our agenda was an end to the death penalty, protection of the rights of immigrants, attention to and redress for discrimination and racism, and equality in education, among other points.

To show that we continue to demand better, this year we march again and we ask you all to join us at Chavis Park!

At 11:00 a.m. we will hear inspirational words from the Rev. Dr. William Barber, the President of the NC NAACP and other speakers. After that, we will march to Jones Street to deliver our agenda.

Bus transportation has been arranged all over the state to bring you to Chavis Park. If you need assistance getting to the march, please call Rebecca Headen or Sarah Preston at the ACLU-NC (919-834-3466) and we can see if there is a bus leaving from your area!
